Bryce and Debbie Johnson first met in a karate class in
Whitby, Ontario. After they married and moved to the Kawartha Lakes area, they opened
their first Martial Arts school in Lindsay in 1978.
One of the first schools to offer classes to children in
Ontario, Bryce and Debbie developed a unique program to instruct children in
the art of Shorin-Ryu Karate. They have also taught Adults in the art of
Shorin-Ryu as well as training in various traditional Okinawan weapons known as
Kobojitsu.
They have taught in many different towns and cities across
the Kawartha Lakes and Durham region. They currently offer classes in two
locations, Lindsay and Beaverton.
Bryce and Debbie’s daughter Amber and son-in-law Jason
Crawford have also joined the family business and teach classes in Lindsay and
Beaverton.
They have also developed an extensive summer program known
as Katana & Crane Summer Samurai School that includes the instruction of the Art
of Bushido to Adults and Children in two locations.
